This Instagram account is ruining books for us

There are very few books that we would willingly give away to be pulped or recycled, but a new Instagram account @ice_cream_books has been defacing the covers of book by placing ice creams on them. And no, Chetan Bhagat’s Half Girlfriend isn’t in this list, but you get the drift. Why would anyone ruin debut novels, powerful memoirs and books of poetry by placing ice creams on them? For our own sanity, we hope that the images have been, in fact, altered in post production and not ruined book covers as they seem from the Instagram account. If the idea was to get people to read, we’d say that this was a truly disastrous experiment. Here’s a look at some of the images from @ice_cream_books

The title of the book is rather apt and could have easily been this Insta account’s handle.
