Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, loves pasta and pizza at her father Joe Germanotta’s Italian restaurant in Upper West Side in New York. The paparazzi in Amsterdam had a field day a couple of years ago when she had gained 11 kg during a tour and blamed all the good food at her father’s restaurant for it. This year, the Fame Monster pop star will launch her father’s cookbook on Italian American food.

Lady Gaga, who says she knows how to cook great Italian food including meatballs and pasta, recently posted a video of her grilling some meat (see below), and of course, it went viral. Her instagram feed also includes a lot of her cooking experiments – some dishes that sound decidedly dodgy including a bread pudding of sorts made using pecan nuts and stale potato rolls. While Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, an unauthorised biography written by Maureen Callahan includes references to the popstar’s poor eating habits, her Instagram feed suggests that she may be eating a more balanced dite now. You’ll find the occasional grilled vegetables alongside antipasti meatballs and the like.

Dodgy yet delicious?
Time for some healthy food
The cookbook, which will be titled Joanne Trattoria Cookbook: Classic Recipes and Scenes from an Italian American Restaurant, will include a foreword written by Lady Gaga and is scheduled to launch in November. Along with recipes for dishes served at restaurant, the book will also include anecdotes and Germanotta’s family stories.
