We have a lot of old bottles lying about — wine bottles, whisky bottles… Some of these are stunning looking, almost as good as the spirit that once inhabited it. Point is — while we use some of them as water bottles — we don’t know what to do with them. Make that we didn’t know what to do with them. Because, we have just encountered the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter.
Kinkajou is a DIY thing, and was created by Ontario-based Bottle Cutting Inc. It first featured on Kickstarter and now retails on Amazon for about $50 (around Rs 3,500). The Kinkajou does what it states it will — turn old bottles into cups and glasses. A standard bottle cutter kit comes with, apart from the bottle cutter, two silicone separation ties, a glass finishing tool and three pieces of silicon carbide sandpaper. From what we’ve seen and read about it online, if you are a DIY man/lady, it looks like it won’t take you too long to get the hang of it. Take a look at how it works below, and let us know if you, like us, are considering putting a couple of these into your Amazon cart.
