From chocolate cabernet to raspberry chardonnay, the era of wine ice-cream is upon us

Every wine-lover has dreamed of an Utopia in which wine ice-cream is for real. A world where one can actually chose between a glass of wine, or several servings of wine ice-cream. Now, finally, a family-owned ice-cream brand in New York has created a wine-based ice-cream. Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream is an all-new addition to the some of the biggest dessert trends of 2016. The frozen treat contains about 5% alcohol,  nearly equal to the alcohol content found in a glass of wine. The creators claim that it “is a unique, unprecedented creation of for adults-only ice cream.”

Available in eight different flavours such like Peach White Zinfandel, Chocolate Cabernet, Lemon Sparkling, Cherry Merlot, Strawberry Sparkling, Port, Red Raspberry Chardonnay, Shiraz, Reisling, and Spice (red mulled wine), this ice-cream seems to be extremely popular given that it’s been trending on Instagram all summer long.
